why do posts seem to stretch off the screen ? I'm having to scroll left and right to read them ? Is there a suggested resolution for the site or some other setting ?
Using Internet explorer @ 1024x768

These pages are elastic, they stretch depending on how wide the window is set to. Someone who uses Microsoft Windows may be able to advise you. Firefox, Safari and Opera are much better browsers than Internet Explorer.

1024 x 768 should be fine but, as snap says, they are elastic so any writing will flow onto the next line if you resize the window to float or change the screen resolution.
The problem comes when pictures are posted. If they are not resized to, say 800 x 600 then they expand the page and this is when you have to scroll sideways.
I think that the page might also expand if you post a very long URL but I'm not sure. It doesn't happen often though.
There ARE better browsers than IE but I guess that you're like me - too lazy to change. If it ain't broke (too much) - don't fix it.

It was in this thread "Re: 2d in Stockholm -> what aspect to optimise fir" that I noticed it and yes it includes a large picture. Case closed.
As for browsers, I tried google chrome lately and I liked it. The problem is I keep forgetting and I always start IE ...

My laptop is set for 1024 x 768 and the home page doesn't stretch offscreen for me so I'm at a loss.

Don't really understand what the problem is. Even using XP you can make a window freestanding and drag the corner to whatever size you like. 1024 x 768 is quite low for a screen these days, many people are using screens with higher density. I use two screens each of 1680 x 1050 in an extended desktop. Higher resolutions mean you can fit in so much more, without scrolling windows sideways.
